Recover From Coercive Control

Online Counselling with Renée

I offer online counselling for people who have experienced cults, high-control groups, or coercive and controlling relationships.
This work is deeply personal to me. My lived experiences, alongside a professional background in education and mental health, have shaped how I understand coercive control—not just in theory, but in the complexity of real life.
Leaving these environments can be confusing, overwhelming, and deeply isolating. You may be dealing with anxiety, loss of identity, self-doubt, or difficulty trusting yourself and others.
Counselling offers a safe, steady space to begin making sense of what you’ve been through—at your own pace, and without pressure or judgement.
My Counselling Approach
Talk-based counselling offers a space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences through conversation. It can help you process what has happened, make sense of confusing or conflicting experiences, and begin to rebuild trust in your own thinking.
Together, we can gently unpack patterns, reflect on key moments, and explore how coercive control may have shaped your sense of self, relationships, or decision-making. This process can support greater clarity, emotional regulation, and a stronger connection to your own values and boundaries.
My approach draws on evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic practices, while recognising that no two people experience coercive control in exactly the same way. We’ll work together to find approaches that feel appropriate and useful for you, rather than trying to fit your experience into a predetermined formula.
There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. We simply start with what feels most present, and work from there.
